What’s on at
The Margin
Readings, launches, and a book club that argues kindly. Most events are free — a few ask for a small ticket to cover the wine.
This month
Poetry at Dusk
Open mic plus a featured reader. Sign-ups from 6:30pm, reading at 7.
Launch — “The Lantern Year”
Mireille Okafor reads from her new novel, in conversation with Rae.
Margin Book Club
This month: short fiction. New readers always welcome.
Used & Rare Sunday
Bring a book to swap; browse the rare cabinet with Theo.
Host a reading, run a workshop
Our back room seats twenty-five and comes with lamplight, a small PA, and as much coffee as a literary evening requires. We host launches, workshops, and the occasional very civilised argument about endings.

Do I need to book?
Most events are drop-in. Launches with limited seating are ticketed — grab one from the counter or message us.
Is the reading room really free?
Yes. Bring your own book or one of ours. After noon, the filter coffee is on the house.
Can you host my book launch?
We’d love to. Tell us your date and rough numbers via the contact page and we’ll sort the details.
How does the book club work?
Pick up this month’s title at the counter, read what you can, and turn up. No homework guilt allowed.
Never miss a reading
